Another Good DeWalt Design June 12, 2010 Cheech Wizard (Stamford, CT USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a lightweight, portable compressor to allow me to take my various nail guns to work on friends and relatives projects. Others had given this DeWalt pretty good marks, and the price is certainly right. I always appreciate the thought that DeWalt puts into tool design...once in a while, they miss an ergonomic feature, but it's clearly not for lack of effort. This guy carries easily, will stand up for storage, and sits on rubber feet when in use, so it's quiet and stays put. Large, easy to read pressure guages, and easy to adjust regulator. Very quiet in operation...ideal for inside use...doesn't even startle the cats.
Plenty of oomph for all but the heaviest-duty uses. I wouldn't shingle a roof with it, but it keeps up with any finish work I do, and adequate for framing if you take a little time.
Others reviewers mentioned the break-in procedure. It's somewhere in the manual after pages of the usual caution/warning stuff. Wouldn't have known about it otherwise (you'd think they would put an advisory label over the power switch, or something visible like that.) Anyway, it's nothing more than 'open the drain valve and let it run for awhile' deal....but given the early failures a few other reviewers had, I'll take DeWalt's advice.
Had it for a month, and have used it several times. All in all, another terffic DeWalt value.
Excellent Product-Buy this if you need a small compressor! April 9, 2010 John W. Stevens (jwstevens01) I looked at a number of compressors, and even purchased one, before returning it to the store, because it was loud and slow. This little compressor is compact, quiet and cycles back up to full pressure fast. If you are looking for a smaller compressor, this is the one! It took me a while to find it, but I am glad I did. This unit is worth the price over any other $100 compressor out there.
Great! Super quiet, tough and totally usable. March 23, 2010 442 Ojisan I have Ridgid compressor but I like using this one all the time. It is so quiet and light. I can take it anywhere and start it.
Best compressor that I ever had.
perfect size February 19, 2010 Curtis L. Sanderhoff (Dc.) I like this compressor it is a perfect size. I remodel and use a frame nailer as well as a trim nailer. It fit in the back seat of my truck .
nice little compressor February 11, 2010 Nathan M. Schultz (Flint, MI USA) For what it is designed to do this compressor comes in first place. I have used the Senco 1 gallon and this one seemed quieter and lighter. It is very easy to carry and also light. When it runs it is very quiet and fills as quickly as you could want in a small unit. It performs perfectly with trim guns all the way from a 15 ga. trim nailer all the way down to a micropinner. To me it is perfectly suited for the jobs where you have to put shoe or crown or toekick panels in as a finishing touch when the job has been otherwise completed. Great for any capstone pieces in the trim package.
It has limitations but they were not surprising. It only has a 1 gallon tank so using a blowoff tool is out. Framing nailers, forget about it. but if you bought or are buying this small compressor for any such application you are proving to the world you have no idea what you are doing. Tiny, maintenance-free, light, quiet, perfect for small jobs.
