sunforce panel problem June 20, 2010 Kang Dong Soo (Coral Gables, FL United States) The shape of plastic border starts deformation after 2 months..
I can't believe that the plastic part is losing it's shape because of hot temperature inside my car..
does it make sense?
It works May 14, 2010 Steven L. Hunter (Livermore, CA) It increases the battery voltage and does not discharge at night. It starts working in minimal sunlight.
delivered promptly, but does not work properly May 3, 2010 R. Dalton 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
No problems re: delivery. New units in new packaging delivered promptly. Larger wattage charging panels appear to required a "check valve" device, but this charging panel indicates that internal circuitry prevents discharging. CONCEEDING I have a car with a 4 to 5 year old battery, it still appears the internal circuitry preventing discharges (after dark?) does not work. I can go a week letting the car sit and it will still start without the charging panel. However, with the device plugged into the cigarrette lighter, the car battery gets so weak after just 3 days it is unable to start the car. For now, my evaluation is "nice idea," but doesn't work.
Sunforce Solar Battery Charger April 28, 2010 D. M. Cook I purchased the twin pack of Sunforce 52013 1.8-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer, and Amazon sent me a twin pack of Sunforce 52012 Solar Battery Maintainer, the 52013 are weather proof and the 52012 are not, there is no need to call customer service because they would want me to send the 52012 chargers back and would then send me out two more 52012 chargers the same thing they sent me wrong to start with, sorta like a never ending cycle, Thanks
Amazon's Description Is Deceptive April 22, 2010 Brian B. Mclernan (DANDRIDGE, TN, US) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Amazon's product #52013 is confusing. This item is NOT the Sunforce 50013, it is two of Sunforce 50012. Though the description lists boat and PWC application, the 50012 is not meant to be around water, while the 50013 is completely waterproof.
According to the user manual, the panels can be waterproofed by tracing a bead of clear silicone around the glass frame. I've done this and installed the panel. We'll see how this works.
After several years of using Amazon this is my first eperience with this sort of confused product identification. The website makes it difficult to complain directly to Amazon, so buyers should beware.
In summary, if you have marine application in mind, make sure you order Sunforce #50013. It costs the same, although you only get one in the package.
