Fantastic May 13, 2010 Eric S. Olstad (New Jersey, USA) This is a great little set of bits for a number of reasons: The price is right, the bits are high quality, it includes the right bits (star, square, phillips, phillips+square, hex), and the case is great for storing all the rest of the bits you probably already have.
I've purchased a bunch of Milwaukee products over the past 2 years. I'm satisfied with every one of them. I purchased this bit set because the price was right and I'm tired of busting up all of my other bits with my impact drill. Plus, the case provides a convenient place to store all of my bits -- not just the impact ones.
I'm completely satisfied with this purchase. My father, a professional contractor, saw this bit set and decided to go out and pick one up for himself. And he's been around the block as far as tools go.
If you're looking for a complete set of bits for all occasions, this probably won't do it for you. This is specifically designed for an impact drill. You won't find a flathead bit in this set. But you will find all the major bits you need for typical woodwork -- star, square, phillips, phillips+square, and hex. It includes a magnetic bit holder for using smaller bits as well as a handful of one-piece larger bits, which I find to be more useful.
With an impact drill, the power comes in bursts as the hammer strikes down within the drill. Any bit of lag or "play" between the drill, the bit and the screw means a loss of power. The tighter everything is, the more power will be delivered to the screw. So for that, a one-piece bit works great. But this set also includes a bit holder (you can see in the picture, bottom right of the case). It holds the little bits fairly tightly so you don't lose too much power. I have another non-impact duty bit holder and you can clearly feel the difference.
I am a fan of this product and I would recommend it to anyone including professional contractors.
Excellent - Typical Milwaukee Product!! April 14, 2010 Richard Eugene Wingfield I bought these reluctantly because of the price but now that I've used them for awhile I think these are a good deal. Excellent quality! Much better than the typical ones you see all over town.
Shockwave bits April 8, 2010 Jerry L. Swanson So far I haven't had any problems with them yet. It would be nice if they were a little cheaper, but I have have a lot of Milwaukee power tools and they don't come cheap.
Not at all what it seems... April 4, 2010 Ty 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this set a few weeks ago to go with my milwaukee drill/impact driver set. After using many different types of bits and honestly not noticing much of a difference (aside from some bosch titanium coated bits that have lasted a long time and not stripped a screw head yet) I figured I'd get some basic bits and a nice little box to keep new ones in as they broke.
The box--> can only hold 16 bits... the plastic feels cheap... and the compartment on the left half of the box is brittle feeling and hard to open.
the bits--> are poorly shaped and poorly built. the edges round quickly and even with a brand new bit its a struggle to drive a screw without stripping the head.
the bit extension--> I honestly haven't even used it. looks to be the same poor quality as all the rest of the items.
This set is not even good if free... all it does is waste time with stripped screw heads and a poorly constructed box. If you want good bits, go with the bosch ti coated ones. If you're looking for a good bit holder, go for the Wiha 71491 ClicFix Bit Holder with Magnet for Inserting Bits.
Milwaukee Driver Bit Set March 4, 2010 Victor Trang (Houston, TX) This was an awesome buy! Comes in a sturdy case and the bits are manufactured with a good quality material. I love the Milwaukee brand.
