Buy another brand August 3, 2010 smokey 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a C10FSB several months ago and the third time I used it smoke poured out of the motor and it stopped. This saw had probably not been on a total of 10 minutes since new and only used on light cuts. This saw was beautiful on the shelf but junk in yhe shop. My old Delta is still perfect after twenty-odd years with only one belt replacement. Take my advice and buy something else- anything else. I was about to buy a Hitachi table saw but this pos changed my mind in a hurry.
Great Tool Fair Price May 22, 2010 Nailbender (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second Hitachi C10FSH that I have owned. I looked at all the others but knew this saw inside and out and how good it really is. For the record, my other one is still in service at home while the new one is on the job site.It shows up every day ready to work.
Fantastic, but someone got it before me. May 5, 2010 The Fredinator (Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great saw, can't add to what has already been written. BUT this was a used unit. The fences do not line up perfectly, and I can see that someone was monkeying around with them as the bolts that hold the fences in place were all scratched and worn. Really would have liked to get a new saw, since that is what I thought I purchased. Anyway, all is well, and I will not be returning the unit, but there should be some more quality control on returned items. Hitachi gets the 5 out of 5. Amazon, and the return system, gets a 2 out of 5. If you could buy this from another source, I think that would be the best. However, to my surprise because of the weight and size of the saw, there was absolutely no shipping damage.
Works good March 21, 2010 S. Toba (Los Angeles) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've read many reviews about the packaging but Amazon customer service assured me it's guaranteed. So when I received the "Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser" I really inspected carefully and took pictures. Found no damage, fences were square. The only the problem was the optional right side "Hitachi 321387 Sub-fence for C10FSH and C10FSB" because Hitachi doesn't include this. It's held in by 2 large metal dowel pins and tightens down with a set screw. There's an 1/8" play at the top of the fence without tightening down the setscrew. After tightening down the set screw, the sub-fence isn't square/level to the other fence on the left side. I've seen this problem written in the past reviews. So I have a fix for that. I added brass shims in the dowel pin hole. I used brass shims because it's a soft metal and will contour to the round hole and they sell different thickness of brass strips.

Excellent so far March 17, 2010 R. M. Albistegui-DuBois (Vista, CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a homeowner with limited but growing DIY/Contriction experience. As I am beginning to take on slightly larger construction projects, a miter saw now makes sense.
We got a good deal on this one through Amazon, and so far I am very pleased with it. It feel sturdy and responds smoothly, and the laser (once adjusted, which isn't hard) is very accurate.
I haven't used it extensively yet, so I can't vouch for durability, but it's very nice in terms of ease of use and accuracy of cut.
Pros: Nice laser, sturdy, easy operation
Cons: Very loud (more than most other tools I've used), somewhat heavy.
