I had one similar to this for 40 years (no exaggeration!) and loved, then dropped it and it did not work after that. So was very pleased to find one here at reasonable price. Thanks!!

Will not sense moisture in potted orchids, due to the type of potting materials. Appears to only work in compacted dirt.

Tried it immediately after receiving and it did not work. Did not budge above dry even when in really damp soil.
Returned it and ordered another one.

This is a handy tool that means houseplants will never die from over watering again! I always have several around the house and yard. They also make great gifts for avid gardeners.
