Great to have around. March 5, 2010 D. Zietlow (Los Angeles, CA) I am very pleased with this inflator. I was just getting tired of having to pay $0.75 every time I inflated my tires at a gas station. The machine works very well and it is easy to inflate to just the right pressure. The power cord is pretty short so make sure you have an extension cord around.
Great for everyday use February 24, 2010 Clement Wong Works exactly as it says. Small powerful pump and does a great jobs with pumping car and bike tires. I just wished it were a little more compact so it can fit in a storage compartment in the trunk.
Works, But With Limitations February 22, 2010 G. Foote (Tolland, CT United States) This air pump does a good job of inflating tires and other inflatables with two limitations. First, it's nice that everything fits within the hose compartment so it is easy to transport, but the extremely short AC power cord (1 ft) means you'll be dragging around an extension cord whenever you use it. Even a thin 6 ft cord would've eliminated this problem. Secondly, the valve adapter is hard to get on and off a tire stem. In taking it off, after I release the locking lever on the adapter, I have to really pull on it to get it to release. I end up almost pulling the valve stem out of the tire, and in the process release some of the air I just pumped in. If this is how it works new, I hate to think what it will be like after a lot of use. Other than that it seems to meet all my needs.
Did not last very long, thank goodness warranty is 2 years February 18, 2010 J. HALL 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this in January 2009. Used it about 6 times to inflate my cars' tires, with good results. However, when I tried to use it today, I discovered that the pressure gauge had become very inaccurate and inconsistent. It would indicate a pressure of up to 140 psi. So the auto-shutoff feature, which was what attracted me to this unit initially, has become useless. I called the warranty service center, and they told me to drop off the unit and they'd mail me a new one. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the new one.
Other points I should mention:
-My unit never worked with AC power. So I have to use the 12V DC plug, which means that I have to start my cars in order to inflate the tires. Which sucks because then I have to open the garage doors to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. And if it's winter and very cold outside, that wastes energy.
-The power switch is in an awkward position.
-The valve head sometimes grips too tightly to the valve, so it doesn't release easily and sometimes bleeds quite a bit of air while trying to disconnect it.
-The cutoff pressure is set by a rotating bezel on the gauge, which protrudes from the top of the unit. I would prefer that this be recessed, or have some kind of locking mechanism, so that you could set your desired pressure and not have to worry about the bezel accidentally being turned away from that set pressure in between uses.
-The box describes the operation as quiet, but it is actually quite noisy.

The inflator I got only last me less then 2 month with 3 use on my kid's bike and it went dead on me. I call the warrenty center, gladly they replace it right of way. Not sure if the replacement will go dean in 3 use again or less then 2 month.
